The product
What is TellEdit?
TellEdit is an AI video editor that turns your own raw footage into a finished video from a plain-language description. You upload clips, say what you want, and it cuts, captions and renders the video. There is no timeline to learn.
What kinds of videos can it make?
A cleaned-up talking-head video without the ums, retakes and false starts; the best moment of a long recording as a short; a story cut from many clips; an interview with B-roll over the slow parts; a montage cut to the beat of a music track; and a product video with an AI voice-over. Each can be 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5, with or without captions.
Does it generate footage or AI people?
No. TellEdit only cuts the footage you upload. The one synthetic part is an optional AI voice-over, which you turn on yourself.
Can I change the result?
Yes. Say what to change, like "make it 30 seconds" or "cut the part about pricing", and it makes a new version and shows what changed. Every version is kept. You can also ask to see and approve the plan before anything renders.
How long does an edit take?
Usually a few minutes, longer for long footage. You can close the tab: by default we email you when the edit is ready.
What can I upload?
Video, audio (a voice-over or a music track) and still images. Several files at once is fine. You can also upload a finished video whose style you want copied; it is studied, never cut into your video.
Plans and billing
What counts as footage?
The length of the clips you add to your projects each month. The videos TellEdit makes from them are counted separately, as finished video.
What do I get for free?
The Free plan includes 2 hours of footage and 60 minutes of finished video a month, with every feature. No card is needed.
Is there a watermark?
No. On the Free plan, finished videos end with a short TellEdit logo by default; you can switch it off for any edit.
Are any features only on paid plans?
No. Every feature is on every plan. Plans differ in how much footage, finished video, storage and seats you get.
What happens if I hit a limit?
New work pauses until the limit resets or you upgrade. Nothing is deleted.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel in Manage billing whenever you like. Your plan keeps running to the end of the period you've paid for.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, on request within 14 days of a charge. Refund policy
Your footage and data
Do you train on my footage?
We never train models on your footage.
Who owns the videos?
You own your uploads and the videos you make with TellEdit. Terms
How long are my files kept?
On paid plans, while you're subscribed. On the Free plan, a project's uploaded files and finished videos are removed after 30 days without activity, and we email you at least 7 days before. Privacy Policy
