Turn your cooking clips into a recipe reel

Upload the clips you filmed while cooking and the song you want, say how long the reel should be, and TellEdit picks the best shots and cuts them to the music. No timeline.

A real edit

Turn kitchen clips into a recipe reel

Make a 20-second recipe reel from these clips, cut on the beat of the music.

8 kitchen clips and a song in, a 20-second vertical recipe reel out: 11 shots, cut on the beat.

How it works

  1. Upload your cooking clips and a song

Phone clips of each step, in any order: chopping, the pan, the plating. Add the track you want it cut to.

  2. Say the length and the format

For example: “A 20-second vertical recipe reel, cut on the beat. End on the finished dish.”

  3. Get the reel, then revise in words

Not quite right? Say “make it 15 seconds” or “open with the overhead shot” and it redoes the edit.

What it handles

  • Any number of clips from a phone or camera, in any order
  • Overhead, close-up and hands-only shots
  • A music track you upload; the cuts follow its beats
  • 9:16 for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, or 16:9, 1:1 and 4:5
  • Captions if you want them, or none

Prompts to try

Copy one into the app and change the details to fit your footage.

  • Make a 20-second recipe reel from these clips, cut on the beat of the music.
  • Make a 30-second vertical reel of this recipe. Open with the finished dish, then show how it’s made.
  • Cut a 15-second teaser of this bake to the music. End on the close-up of the slice.
  • Make a square 20-second reel of this recipe for my feed, cut on the beat.
  • Edit my cooking clips like this reference video, same pace, but cut to my song.

Questions

What footage do I need?

The clips you already filmed while cooking, straight from your phone or camera. Short clips of each step are enough; they don’t need to be in order or trimmed.

Do I need to upload my own music?

Yes. TellEdit cuts to the track you upload and doesn’t add music of its own. Use a track you have the rights to for wherever you’ll post the reel.

Will it use footage I didn’t upload?

No. TellEdit only cuts the footage you upload. It never generates footage or adds stock clips.

Can I change the reel afterwards?

Yes. Say what to change, like a new length or a different opening shot, and it redoes the edit. Changing an edit doesn’t count as a new edit on your plan.

Can I try it for free?

Yes. The Free plan includes 2 edits and 1 hour of footage a month, with every feature. No card is needed.

More in all questions and pricing. Other things you can make: montage cut to music.
